"Melon"

Kevin & Mary Ellen..have a very nice '73 VW...they call "Melon".  Some spare paint of red and safety yellow were mixed together to create the soft melon color on the entire car.

Mary Ellen recently started her project..I caught up with her the very day she took it out for it's first drive as an ArtCar. --She says she used coloring books as the basis for the artwork.  She transposed the images onto the car using carbon paper..then hand painted them.

Mary Ellen has plans to fill the surface of the body with cartoons and other images. As her progress continues..this page will be updated with new pictures..

Mary Ellen has stitched a real nice head liner and inner door panels.  This car is real neat now..wait until she starts filling it up with more artwork.

This car is now owned by David Tanner..and he calls it Doodle Bug.
